Here is one of my favorite duets: Rachelle Ferrell and Will Downing "Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This"--voices are amazingly clear.
My favorite vocal duo would have to be by a couple called "Us the Duo" and is there song "No Matter Where You Are". I really like this song and video because my friend Kalynn moved away, and she was like my best friend, and this was what we called our song. Whenever I hear it I think of her and all of the fun times that we have had and all of our memories. I didn't have a specific reason for choosing them, we picked this song in the 8th grade and she moved that next year. We loved the lyrics because we know that even though e are far apart we are always going to be friends. This pair is amazing for one because they are married and sung the song on their wedding they wrote it together. I feel if one person was to sing it just wouldn't have the same meaning because it was meant for two not one. In the video they used a guitar and a drum and a little shaker. I really liked it because it was upbeat and lively. I love this song because it reminds me of my dear friend and I know that one day we will come back together and it'll be like we never left.

My favorite duo is Megan Trainor ft. John Legend "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" because the beat just gets to me. Megan Trainor and John Legend are perfect for this single. Their voices blends so well. The way the balance each other and have a conversation, this track can be anything else but a solo. And I like the tone both their voices, the subtleness. The instruments are blended in good too. This was a good number.

I chose the song "I'm Your Angel" by CĂ©line Dion ft R. Kelly. I like the video because it is very peaceful and sweet. I chose these singers because they are such an odd pair, but they still sound amazing when they come together. I think that if they were not singing as a duet, it would not sound as good. The contrast of having a male and female voice is very nice. The digital effects in the song are a nice touch. I also love this song so much because my teacher in middle school used to play this song for us once everyday.

One of my favorite duets is a cover. "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran is a song that I really like, and the cover that I enjoy the most is by Boyce Avenue ft. Bea Miller. I like this cover because it is an acoustic version and I feel those types of covers add more character to the song itself. I've always liked the covers done by Boyce Avenue, and his voice with Bea's sounds incredible. The harmonies sound really nice and they accent both artists'strengths in the music field.

I chose the song For the Rest of My Life by Robin Thicke ft. Tamar Braxton. I like this song because I love love songs. The vocals in this song are out of this world. Especially Tamar, she just puts those runs in and they sound so efortless. Her ad libs make the song. The smooth beat also is also a big part. The song was originally just by Robin and was decent but with Tamar it was 50 times better in my opinion. It sounds great and is a lovely song.

My favorite vocal duet would be Endless love by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. The passion they put into the song and duet makes the performance so powerful. Diana Ross has a strong voice and Lionel Richie has a smooth feel to his voice. Their opposite voices mix very well together. If the song was just sung with one artist it would not have the same presence and intensity that their duet has done.

I chose “when I get where I’m going” by brad paisley and dolly patron. I chose this song because I hear it on the radio all the time and I enjoy it. The duet sounds better because it has the low voice of brad and then the harmonizing voice of dolly to complement. Like a hamburger is good but fries complement them and make the meal better like it makes the song better. I do thing the guitar in the back sounds good and adds the seriousness to the song. Other comment about this song is how the song sound like brad is really singing from the heart and believes and loves the words he is singing.

I chose "Same Girl" by R. Kelly ft. Usher. I chose this song because I have liked R&B music since I was a little girl. When I was little I would sing the song with the radio. The like the duet because they are giving there experiences that they thought were the same girl but they were actually twins. If R.Kelly would have done the song by himself it would have just seemed like an love song about an girl. I really like there vocals throughout the whole song.

The duet I chose is " Dilemma" by Nelly ft. Kelly Rowland. I like the video of this song because their like jealous when they see each other with a different person other than themselves, but they both know they still like each other. I chose Nelly and Kelly Rowland because to me they sound really amazing when they sing together, and they were one of my favorite couples. The duet is so amazing because they put all their emotions in it about how much they love each other. The beat to me makes this duet better than it already is.My favorite part of this song is when Nelly is rapping.

My favorite duet song is "Hurt You" by Toni Braxton featuring Babyface. I like the video because the setting of the video and how the video flashes back to the good times they had together. The meaning of the song is how they both never meant to basically let the relationship get as far as it did. They both hurt one another and this song is their apology to one another.I chose these two singers because their voices compliment one another and since its a love song they use that expression in their voices. Hearing from both how they both hurt one another and their feeling makes this duet better.

My Favorite duet song is "Freedom" by Beyonce featuring Kendrick Lamar. I like the video because it is different from everything and it speaks out. I chose these two singers because i like anything Beyonce puts out. This song is way better as a duet because Kendrick Lamar adds a special touch that makes the song stand out. The special element that adds to this is song the message that it speaks. The song is about how we need freedom and justice from all the killings that were occurring. This was my favorite duet of all time.

My favorite duo is Brandy and Monica "The Boy is Mine". I really liked the song because it talks about two girls fighting over a guy and they are claiming that the guy is theirs. Also, I liked the music video and how both Brandy and Monica were in two different rooms talking in the phone claiming their men. It is a very catchy song to me and I love this song.

My favorite duo is "Crush" by Usher and Yuna. I really like this song because it talks about the feelings they have for each other . It has a flowy vibe and the song is very relaxing. Usher and Yuna have great harmonies and they balance each other. My favorite line is " I think i'm in a rush , I think i got a little crush on you."
ReplyDeleteThe song is vert catchy . This is one of my favorite duets.

My favorite duo is "Nothing Even Matters" by Lauryn Hill and D'Angelo. I like this video because it is a pure classic. I chose Lauryn and D'Angelo because they are very good R&B singers. The fact that they feed off of each other to produce just the right amount of soul in this song is what makes the duet unique. The rhythm of the song also gives it a R&B feel. The fact that this song is still being played now is proof that it is a very good song.

My favorite duo is Justin Timberlake and Beyonce Knowles singing "Until the End of Time." I like this song because it talks about how two people would wait for each other no matter what. I chose these singers because they are great singers and they made a good collaboration of this song. What makes this song better being a duet rather than Justin singing it by himself is that its a love song and its better as a duet and you get a perspective from a male and a female. What i liked about the video is that they put Justin and Beyonce in two different couples to show each perspective.

My favorite duet is La'Porsha Renae and Fantasia singing "Summertime " by Ella Fritzgerld. I like the song because they have a soulful sound blend. I chose these singers because they are great individual and powerful together because they feed off each other. What makes the song better as a duet than the orignal because the origanl gives you the feeling of a beautiful summmer day but the duet gives you a beautiful summer day with a breeze going across your skin and the sky kissing your face. The reason I like this video because they can hit notes like no other.

One of my favorite duets is "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. I like this song because Jay-Z basically boast about being at the top and the track sounds great. It has a type of new-old fashion sound to it which works since the song is s flashback. Keys on the piano was great and her chorus was inviting and Jay-Z also worked the rap to spice up the song. The usage of synth was great especially the cycled pinging in the background of the song. It was an all around inspiring song which used simple beats and had an infectious ping from the synth. It is a nice song to help flash through the events that led someone to stardom.

My favorite duet is Sam Smith and John Legend "Lay Me Down". I like this song because they harmonize well together and their individual vocal parts sound good as well but it is better together because when the come together you get the chills. The song also has a deep meaning and the way they sing it matches the point of the song, like they mean what they sing. The vocal parts have a nice rich tone too. I think the runs in the song help make the song that much better. This is a song I will listen to for a very long time.

One of my favorite duets is "Say Something" by a Great Big World and Christina Aguilera. I chose this song because the voices of the singers blend together so beautifully. The song would probably still be as good if just one singer performed because of the songs message; however due to the beautifully synchronized harmonies of the singers, its superb. The song, as a duet, shows how both genders essentially want the same thing out of a relationship.

One of my recent favorite duets is Air by Shawn Mendes featuring Astrid. There is not an actual video to the song yet, but I am sure if there was I would enjoy it. I chose the song because I am a huge fan of Shawn Mendes and I really enjoy any duet he does because it just adds to his talent. When he does duets, there is a beautiful harmony that is created that he can not achieve on his own. I also really enjoyed the acoustics to this song, especially in the intro.

ReplyDeleteThe song I chose for my duet is "No Air" by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown. This was released in 2007. 2007 the good ole days. I chose this duet because it showed some much passion. The whole 2007 I thought Jordin and Chris were together. Their voices blended together so well it was magical. Watching the music video made you see even more passion in their eyes body language and voice.
ReplyDeleteOne of my recent favorite duets is "Just The Two Of Us" by Keith Sweat ft. Takiya Mason. This song released 4 months ago and I love it. Keith Sweat's music period is very groovy and I am a old school lay back and just snap my fingers type of person. Listening to this song I can do that plus it is just a catchy song. One I frist heard this song I did not like it and I never knew anything about Takiya Mason but she added a kick to this song and I'm glad he included her in it. Takiya makes the song even better in a sense. -Emiaya Kirk

My favorite duet would have to be Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". This song has very meaningful lyrics that speak on the power of love. It basically says that if you truly love someone, then there is nothing that can stand in the way of you and that person. I also love this song because both vocalists have amazing voices and possess great range. This song has special meaning to me because it is one of the songs that I sing with my family as we all have a Karaoke moment. "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" is definitely on my list of favorites.

My favorite duets is "The Closer I Get To You" by Beyonce and Luther Vandross. The lyrics are really nice because its about two people in love. I chose these singers because both of them have beautiful voices and they harmonize wonderfully together. This song literally would not be the same if it was a solo. They need each other to go back and forth proclaiming their love for each other. All of the runs and ad-libs really make it. This is one of my favorite songs to listen to.

My favorite duet has to be "Bed Peace" by Jhene Aiko ft. Childish Gambino. This song is really mellow with Jhene Aiko cool and soulful vocals accompanied with Childish Gambino laidback bars. It reminds me of just of hanging out with the person you want to be near and just chilling. I love the cover art for the single because it reminds me of Jhon Lennon and Yoko Ono "Remember Me" and I love that couples laidback aesthetic.

My favorite duet is "My Boo" by Usher and Alicia Keys. like this song because its about two people who love each other and don't want to be with anybody else but each other. I chose these singers because they both have great vocals and have a nice harmonization. This song sounds so much better as a duet because they use each others lines for their next line, and it was meant to be a duet and not sung by itself. I just love how their lines run into each other and the and the emotion in the song.

The song I chose for one of my favorite duets is "i'm sorry" by Swell feat shiloh. Unfortunately, there's not a video to the song. I chose them because even with such a simple phrase, swell remixes it and switches it into a full song, which is very hard to do. What makes a duet better than just singing alone is the different ideas you can come up with when you have two brains. The beat and the slight changes in tempo really make this song stand out and add to the greatness to the song. Honestly, this blog post was very hard for me since I have a ton of favorites. But this song has got to be in the top 10.

My Favorite Duet would have to be She dont Ty Dolla $ & Ella Mai. I like this song because Ella mai is basically showing how highly of herself she is and how No other female can compare to her Old Man's new female. In my opinion she shows her confidence in hereself and she shows how much she actually cares about hereself whether he's there or not. The beat is very smooth and easy to dance to making it the perfect breakup song for a person. The harmonization and lyrics were tremendous and overall I love this duet.

ReplyDeleteI also would like to add I chose this song because Ella Mai is One of my most favorite female singers because she has a voice thats really soft but firm and strong also to get here point accross and adding Ty Dolla $'s Melodic Voice it makes the perfect song
The song that I chose is "Yesterday" by Toni Braxton feat. Trey Songz. I like this video because everything they do in it compliments the lyrics that they are singing. I chose these two singer because the both have beautiful voices and have such a great harmony. The duet is better than someone trying to sing it alone because it tells the female side of the story and the males side of the story, and I don't know how one person could tell how the other person feels. There is a change in emotion when they go back forth with each others verse, and their vocals are just so beautiful that just love how they sing.

My favorite duet that I just recently discovered is "Alone Together" by Daley ft. Marsha Ambrosius. I love the guy's voice. It's so angelic. The female voice is also great too. The melody that they create is so interesting. It is not something that can be done just singing a solo. This song came out in 2012 and I feel that it is still very current.

One of my most favorite duets is "Gotta Go My Own Way" by Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. I like the video because it shows so much emotion and how much they care for each other even though its a sad song. I love this duet because they make such a great harmony and their voices are just so ravishing, which is why I chose these two singers. This song was made to be a duet and not sung alone because in the song it tells how each of the singers feel about their separation. I love the emotion and passion that they put into the song and the video. I also loved how they put his singing part at the end of the song before she left because that is when he knew for a fact that she was leaving, and he was trying to get her to stay because he was in love with her.

A duet I really admire is "Some Things Are Meant to Be" from the musical "Little Women". I performed this one at ASF and played as Beth. I loved it. The song really speaks to me. The emotion portrayed is absolutely stunning. I chose these singers because they are truly one of a kind. The woman who plays Beth (from the original musical) has a voice that is very smooth and clear, while the woman who played Jo (from the original musical) has a more alto-like, passionate voice. What makes the duet better than singing alone? The emotion that is clearly shown between the two sisters; almost as if they are having a moving conversation. This is, by far, a masterpiece of music.

The song I chose was " For you " by Once A Tree. I chose this duet because of how a male and females voice just combined together. The way the harmony just flows together. There two great people put together. In the video, they tell about the good and bad parts in a relationship. The song flows right along with the video because in the song it's saying they'll do whatever they need to do for you. The song and video is very deep and you can understand everything they both are saying.

A duet I truly love to hear is "Drowning" by Willow Smith ft. Mecca Kehlani. The song starts off with the beautiful notes from a piano followed by the girls ad-libs/ humming. As the song transcends the girls go back and forth telling a story of love gone wrong. You hear the majestic raspiness of Willow' s voice mixed with Mecca' s smooth, soft notes. They end the song in a powerful harmony that is breathe taking not only by the voices, but the lyrics as well. Willow playfully brings the story the told to a conclusion with a simple "The End".

My favorite duet is "Four Walls" by Vedo and Mata sha Mosley. I really like this duet because it's more like a conversation which makes the song more understandable. Their voice compliment eachothers' in many different ways. I also enjoy the beat of the song which have the same soft vibe as Vedo and Natasha's voices give off as well. This is and all around, amazing duet. Thus will always be one of my all-time favorite duets.

This song will definitely be sung at my wedding!

My favorite duet is "Stay" by Rihanna and Mikky Ekko. In this song they talk about staying together in a relationship even if it gets hard. They both have a great way of projecting their emotions way better with each other than all alone as well. Their voices are both beautiful and soothing, and truly make this a pretty good duet. The background music also incorporates in the song for it helps the song flow smoothly, and gives more meaning to the words being said. This is always going to be one of my favorite duets.

One of my favorite duets is "Bridge Over Troubled Water" sung by Whitney Houston and Cece Winans. I really like this song because we sung it in POPS, but they spiced it up a bit and made it into a duet with a small choir. I chose these singers because they both have powerful voices and sound good singing together. This song is better as a duet because it sounds better as a harmony, especially with Whitney and Cece singing this song as a duet its just so beautiful. I like how Whitney and Cece's voice complimented each other and how their voices were just so extravagant. I just loved how they were singing to each other like they were having a conversation.

My favorite duet is a cover of the song "Can't Help Falling in Love with you" by Kenzie Mimmo and her husband Harris Heller. Her voice is amazing, and together the sound is wonderful. The harmonies they do are AMAZINGGGG. The way she sings softly also adds a more dramatic effect to the song. Plus, the video is the cutest thing. Their love is real and you can hear it even in their voices. Both of their voices are smooth. IT IS SO GOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like this video because of the artist. They make it intimate and powerful. The way their voices come together and the harmony is beautiful. It wouldn’t be the same without being a duet. ReplyDeleteA duet that I like to listen to is "Help" by Erica Campbell and Lecrae. I like the song because it's some truth behind it, the words actually have meaning and the song, motivates me, let me know that everybody needs help, and it puts me in a good mood. The song is better as a duet because you get to hear two different people tell their story about things that have happened. I listen to it often and like my mother always say "you can never go wrong with Jesus." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrzZNnuD9_4
One of my favorite duets is "Girl on Fire" by Alicia Keys ft Nicki Manaj. I chose alicia keys and Nicki Manaj because Alicia Keys is one of my role models and she sings very well. I think the both of them together sound very unique. Alicia Keys' voice is very strong and powerful and with Nicki Manaj adding her part to it makes the duet sound so much better. ReplyDeleteI chose "There can be miracles" by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. I sung this song in tenth grade for Pops, and I thought this was such a beautiful songs because it is performed by two of the most world known artist. They both have beautiful flexible ranges, and bring a sense of equal but separate feel to the song. Meaning that it is a duet, and they harmonize at parts, but it is also a song that is their own, and they are blowing it away. The instrumentation really brings out the songs, other than the amazing vocals.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite duos is "The Time of My Life" by Bill Medley and Jeniffer Warnes. I first heard the song when I was watching Dirty Dancing with my mom when I was younger. The song starts slow, finishes fast, and has a mambo beat. It chorus starts slow to create a downbeat for the verse. The song won the 1987 Grammy award for Best Vocal Performance by a Duo and an Oscar for Best Film Song.
