Showcase was great this year as compared to last year. The dancers, choir, band, and many more were outstanding. This year, everyone's excitement and posture was much better than last year. Hopefully next year's performance is even better.

The BTW Showcase 2014 was very interesting. While watching the video, I saw parts that I did not get to see at showcase. The dance piece (with the red background) was very interesting and showed the talent that the dancers have. The singing with the dancers (with musical theatre) could have been a lot better. All in all, these are a few of my thoughts reguarding the outstanding 2014 Booker T. Washington Magnet High School's Showcase.

the BTW Showcase 2014 was well done and everybody did good. My favorite part was when the band was playing drums and the dancers dancing in silhoute. However, the "Cups Song" could have been better.

Showcase was outstanding this year. It showed our talent and what we are made of . If sitting in that crowd as an eigth it would inspire me to attend BTW based on the talent shown. Everything was great and I do not think anything was not at its value. BTW finished well and we got things accomplished in a matter of time.
ReplyDeleteShowcase was phenomenal this year! I think everyone did an amazing job. I think that the only thing that could have been better was people saying the correct pronunciations for certain words in the Arabic/Hebrew part of When You Believe! My favorite part was the opening number. ~ Kelly S
ReplyDeleteShowcase was a complete success this year. Some parts in the video (theater) could have been better but overall it was nice. Showcase gives people a chance to see the performing arts side of BTW as a whole. After seeing showcase i think it inspired alot of kids to come to BTW.

Showcase this year was great! Every magnet was represented well. Walk In Jerusalem sounded really good. Every part was heard and it was well balanced. When You Believe was great as well. I really wish the opening was on the video but regardless I think we did good on that as well. The dancers were great, the show band was great. The singing could have been better. Of course there is always room for improvement. Overall just everything was outstanding. Showcase was definitely a huge success this year!

I really enjoyed showcase this year! I got a chance to attend it with my school last year, but to be apart of it was amazing! For this to be my first showcase to be in and be able to see and participate in the hard, long hours of rehearsal, is great! BTW Showcase was the best performance I've seen for 2014.

The performance was amazing now seeing some of it on YouTube. There were still improvements that could have been made. The people on stage could have made more eye contact with the audience. I really loved the Showcase 2014. Other than that improvement I didn’t see anything else that could have made it better.

I thought it was great! i feel like the "demons" piece could use some work or not be performed at all to be honest. I could not take my eyes off of the choir magnet. much improvement has occurred this past year and i hope it continues to improve this year as well as next year.

As stated in earlier comments "demons" needed work. The performance by Mary Gates was very unique. Also the dance piece was very entertaining to watch. It almost looked professional. Overall it turned out very well.

The girl with the guitar was really good. "Demons" could have been much better, but it wasn't awful. The dance magnet's performances were my personal favorite. Ours was kind of boring, sorry not sorry.

The video was subpar, but the show was fantastic. I loved the dance magnet's performance, and the garbage cans used by the band rhythm section. The singers and the theater magnets were awesome. Band and show band rocked the house, and we all MADE A LOT OF NOISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Arlend
ReplyDeleteOverall, showcase was amazing. Of course it had its strong and weak points, but I feel every magnet was represented well. My favorite act was the trashcan bit; it was very lively and unique. One scene that could have been better was the Charlie Brown scene. But as far as choir goes, we sounded well. We blended well and had tons of energy with crisp endings on our words, like the great Rev. Pastor Bishop Elder Williams taught us. Even when we thought it wasn't going to come together, it did! We're btw yellow jackets, we do this on the daily!

Showcase 2014 was great. Although, I think it could have been better if there were facial expressions on the performer's faces to connect with the audience more. Other then that I didn't see wrong with the performance. Each magnet represented had something creative. Overall showcase was really fun and I can't wait till Showcase 2015!

I was blown away by the Showcase performances. The magnets in Showcase were represented quite well. I really glad we could put on a great show and show people what the noise was all about. Tbh my favorite piece was ofortuna. It was a great opening piece and did us justice. For the most part, every thing was on point. There's always room for improvement but in this case, there was very little. I enjoyed Showcase so much!

Despite some areas, I still believe this years showcase was the best yet. All of the acts were diverse and I love how EVERY magnet had it's time to shine this year. Our two songs sounded really great. Showcase 2014 made me extemely proud to be a yellow jacket. "We don't even have to try, it's always a good time." #BTWShowcase2014

This video was like a montage of the acts in Showcase. Showcase was a success, for majority of the acts were flawless. I felt the music acts were great as a whole. From a musicians point of view, things such as dynamics and diction were pretty good; and for the other arts, they appeared to be acceptable. Showcase appeared to be pretty great.

The video was really great or rather Showcase overall! It had all types of musical talents and actors giving the audience a night to remember. There was some ways that the technical difficulties could've been improved, however, it turned out wonderful! Everyone did a marvelous job though and Showcase turned out pretty good!

I was toooo happy when I seen myself on the camera I thought it would never come to that side of the stage. My favorite music part was when the dancers did the dance with the red background and the girl with the hat on. I hope next years showcase will be more impacting and better than this years. *^__^* P.S. THE TURN UP WAS VERY REAL

Showcase was awesome! Everyone pulled through and did great! I enjoyed our performance, we sounded great. We have to work on our facial expressions but other than that it was good. I also enjoyed Michael's act and the dancers. Showcase really was an amazing performance! - Marissa S
ReplyDeleteThe 2014 Showcase performance was absolutely the best one I have experienced so far. I must say, the long amount of practice that we put into this performance and the very hard work that Mr. Darby put into setting up this performance was definitely shown. I have never had more fun except for when I went to All-State in 2013. Though, I must say that the sleep depravity from the late rehearsals was something that I could live without doing twice. ~Timothy Alpert
ReplyDeleteShowcase 2014 was a great success, this was my first time actually seeing showcase and I really enjoyed the snippets of performances. Choir actually did well performing, though we as a whole need to work on facial expressions. I enjoyed the dancers performace with kelsie as lead and I also enjoyed Michael Lomans performance. Overall great show.

I think showcase was amazing. All of the performing magnets did well, although the rehearsals were a mess. I think we could've done better with the Cup Song, and the preparations of all the songs we did. Mr. Darby did great this year for it being his first time. This year was way better than last year, and I hope next year be even better.
