  1. My favorite parts of showcase were "Better Days" sung by Faith Gatson and Choir and MT students and also the ending where the band were playing and we were getting hyped to church music. Parts that I think I needed improvement were still singing after we ran to the audience because I lost my breath and I tried to keep singing but it wasn't happening. Overall, I thought that I did good on keeping up with the dance moves and also singing with them. I did give my best effort in perfoming during showcaes but it could have been better.

Next showcase,I would like for more of us to audition for showcase breaking out of our shells coming to our own. I would like for showcase to be about our struggles and how we have overcome them. Showcase could also be about movies, songs, and plays that we love and believe that they can change someone's life in the future. In my opinion, next year's showcase would go a lot better if everyone had a chance to do a piece of their own so they can express themselves artistically because some of us want to be in the music profession and if we aren't able to learn from this experience we would most likely struggle the whole way through. Showcase should be about our personalities and evolving as a performer.

  2. I enjoyed performing in this year's showcase. Performing "Come Alive", "Fight Song", and "Better Days" was my favorite part. I feel as if the direction could have been better organized. If they came in with an initial time schedule for each piece that they wanted to go through for each rehearsal and a planned time limit to begin with, then they wouldn't have had to cut pieces; that way, everything that needed to be tech'd in could have been.

Whenever it comes to a performance-whether big or small-I always strive to perform my best. I did give my best effort in this year's showcase. In next year's showcase, I would like to see better organization from the one(s) giving direction. Showcase is supposed to be a fun experience, and a performer's energy can really go down if the directors aren't organized. I would also like to see better preparation from the performers. The material for showcase should already be learned and down-packed before the Christmas Break, so that when rehearsals some around, it's smooth-sailing and and easy experience.

  3. My favorite parts of Showcase was Come Alive and Better Days. There were a few parts that could have been improved. Showcase could have been more organized. They could have went in order and set a schedule up for each day of rehearsal. I did give my best effort this year.

In next year's Showcase, I hope that it is more organized. I would like to see more magnets collaborating. I would also like to see different people have solos or duets. This would give them a chance to stand out and not be in the background.

  4. Showcase 2020 was overall a well done performance. Like previous years, the rehearsals may seem difficult, but the production always turns out great in the end. My favorite part of Showcase was the finale. The only aspect that could have used some improvement was students being more cooperative with instructors and having more positive energy. In brief, the production was great as always.

In addition to the students needing some improvement, my effort put into the show could have been better also. During rehearsals, there were times when I would get tired and sort of slack off. Nonetheless, I did not let my tiredness get in the way of my performance in front of the actual crowds. Next year. I would like to see a theme of showcase that is not too broad but, also open. All in all, 2020 Showcase was a great performance.

  5. i feel like showcase 2020 was a 50/100. my favorite part was the finale. i loved how faith brought us to church. i hated how we had to cancel the Saturday show. we only had one performance for my senior year. thats sad. improvement could have been made when we danced for come alive, better placements could have been made.

i did give my best effort, but i feel like others should have too. next year it should only be one person trying to control the pieces for choral or if its more than one person they need to all be on one accord. i would like to see better structure and content next year. i would also like to see creativity and original talent.

  6. Showcase 2020 was not the experience I expected, but it was a memorable one. My favorite part of the performance was "A flat" performed by Instrumental Music and "Amparita Rocca" performed by Concert Band. They were upbeat and catchy. Those pieces sounded like they were fun to perform and painted the magnets in a beautiful light. I think our expressions and tone could be improved in our pieces, as well as attitude improvements from everyone. We, as a choir, need to work on bringing a positive attitude into our spaces. We look dead on certain songs because we don't smile like we should. In addition, we should each do our own part to learn vocal parts and choreography when we are in charge of teaching ourselves.

Despite these setbacks, I really tried to keep a positive attitude during all of this. I know, especially on Thursday, I was so mentally done with everything I checked out and was over it. Once I got home, however, I told myself that it was not going to be like this anymore because "this is my last showcase and I am going to enjoy myself." Next year there is much room for improvement: if we have choreography- it will be learned by everyone before Christmas break so that once they get back all that is left to do is touch ups; even if the directors are unorganized, work to make life easier for them by having all of our stuff organized that way we can just do what they want us to do; and finally make it clear to the students what they want in the show- i.e. have a clear and direct theme.

  7. 2020 Showcase was wonderful overall. Showcase was fun my favorite parts were "Come Alive" and the finale. We really had fun dancing and singing on stage. Although the rehersals were long and hard and everyone was very tired we pulled threought and both performances we did were out standing. I was a little upset we could not do "Million Dreams" but we "Stand in the light" was good as well.

I think we need improvement on singing out and when we dance we stop singing we should fix that as well. Honestly I feel like I could have done way better than I had done my enegry needed to be way better. I would like to see showcase be more like a play and have a story line that would be really fun. If showcase was like this any magnet or student could be in showcase and it would be something different and new to try. Showcase 2020 was really good it could have been better we all just needed more energy but I had fun and it was preety cool.

  8. Overall,Showcase was very fun.My favorite part was "Come Alive" and the finale. I also enjoyed just being there and performing.Something that needed to be improved was time management. Another Thing is singing out because when we were dancing we stopped singing at times.

    ~Jazmine Moorer

For Showcase I feel like i gave it my all.I had fun and that's what made the long practices worth it.Next year for showcase I would like to see costumes with a little more color to them. I would also like for us to have a lot more hype music. In conclusion I had a lot of fun this year at showcase.

  9. Overall, showcase 2020 was an amazing experience for not only the audience but for the performers as well.It was a chance for everyone to show off their talents and work together. My favorite part of the show was the finale. It was an opportunity for us to be a blessing for everyone in the room.

I think the organization on every part could've been better. It would've given us more time to add or subtract more if needed. I feel like I gave my all throughout the show.Next year I would like showcase to have a story line which in my opinion would help it flow better.

  10. Showcase 2020 was the absolute best. This year was my first personal experience with showcase and I wouldn't rather have it any other way. I was blessed with the opportunity to share with my school and community the gift God has given me. My prayer was to be lowered so that God may be lifted up..absolutely NONE of me and 100% him. All I had to do was let God have his way, I'd label this as my best performance at BTW.

My favorite part of the performance was Stand In the Light. If only we knew we could've been better performing choreography for "Come Alive" we could've really decorated and added props. In most cases I gave my best effort however, dancing isn't really my thing but all I could do was try.Next year I'd like to see longer rehearsals. I feel as if each individual act doesn't get enough stage time to really work and improve.

  11. Showcase 2020 was a major success. Based on how everyone performed, all the eyes were definitely on us. My most favorite part was hanging out with all of my piers in my magnet and others. Spending time with everyone is something we usually don't get a chance to do. What needed more improvement were peoples negative attitudes. Not only towards the pieces selected, but also towards putting in the necessary work to succeed.

Based on what I remember I gave my best effort. Even though I had to be cut from certain sections in songs and dances, I gave all I had. I tried my best in every aspect, because my showcase years are coming to an end. Next year it really does not matter what we do. As long as it is my best showcase perform yet for class for 2021!

  12. The theme for this year’s showcase was “All Eyes On Us”. As always BTW comes with a variety of diversity within one building. Personally, my favorite part of the performance was the “Better Days “performance done as the finale. I loved to sit backstage and listen to the backup singers sing their vocal parts. It was amazing!

I felt like i needed to work on my breathing because i could barely sing at times due to poor breathing techniques. However, i did give it my all because it was the first and last showcase. It was imperative that i gave my all and leave it all on the floor. Next year i would like to see more diversity in the choir such as more singing along with dancing. Also more songs that they usually wouldn’t expect to do.

  13. Showcase 2020 was definitely one for the books. The theme "All Eyez On Us" rally fit this year because it showed what BTW's students are known for. We had many setbacks such as acts being cut, changes to choreography, and tech issues, but we still managed to put on a great show.

My favorite part of showcase was the Grand Finale. The Grand Finale included Faith singing "Better Days" while the dancers danced and the choir singing background. This was my favorite part because you could tell that everybody put their all into the piece and how the spirit was in the building. To me, the choir could've improved on singing louder. I feel as if I gave my best effort towards singing loud, showing energy and going full out while dancing, and paying attention while direction were given. In next years showcase, I hope to see more acts and all the magnets in the show.

  14. Showcase 2020 overall was wonderful. Showcase was the absolute best for my very first time.Everyone worked very hard to make the showcase a success. We got up at five go to school and straight to rehearsal after and laid down at about 10 and got up and did all over again the next day. it was a blessing having a solo in my first year of being in high school. I feel as though i did put a lot of effort in showcase individual.

My favorite part of the performance was i was here performed by Makenna blazer. i feel as though everything could've been improved more as far as more time and practice. next year i would like to see a lot more people do individual things.

  15. What was your favorite part of the performance?
    2. What part(s) did you think needed improvement?
    3. Did you give your best effort?
    4. What would you like to see done next year in Showcase?
My favorite part of of showcase was not so much the performances but rather the experience as a whole . I enjoyed the atmosphere of the practices and the performances. I enjoyed spending time with my classmates and peers . I think that the stress level of showcase could have been improved as a whole . There was a lot of tension surrounding the acts and performances.

During the practices I tried to be as encouraging as possible to those who’ve never experienced showcase . During the actual performance that I participated in on Friday I put in a lot of effort to do well because it was the only show that I was able to participate in . Next year at showcase I would like to see it moved to Saturday night . -Amilia Edwards

  16. My last showcase was a spectacular experience. I'm going to miss being apart of it. My favorite part of the performance was Stand in the Light. It was already my favorite song out of the three and the blocking made it even better to me. It gave me a pretty sentimental feeling. However, I feel like the theme "All Eyes on Us" could have been executed much better. I felt that overall the performances of showcase slipped back into Phoenix rising more than all eyes on us.
I do think I did my best. I knew that it would be my last year so that is what motivated me to do my best. For next year, I would like to see more creativity and innovation in each performance. For example, the visual arts video this year was really cool because it was different. Performances with more variety will help to push the theme forward next year

  17. My first experience with Showcase 2020 was very interesting, but it was enjoyable for the most part. My favorite part of Showcase was our performance "Stand in the Light." I really liked the atmosphere that surrounded the room as we sung and it felt as if we were on a journey together and we showed others that we all have a light that shines brightly within us. The part where we used our flashlights on our phones was a nice touch as well. Honestly, I think I could've given more effort towards the performances that we did, but I did the the best I could right then and it turned out just fine.

The parts that I think would need improvement are several things. I did not enjoy the fact that things had to be changed and added so last minute. I know the choral magnet did not have to go through that, but I felt really bad for the people whose parts got cut or dramatically changed. I think that these things could have been planned ahead of time and not the day before the performance. There could have been more of a variety between performances and some of the other magnets could be more involved. Next year I would like to see more of what BTW's students have to offer.

  18. Showcase this year was a success. My favorite piece was the duo dancers dancing to a song called "Recess" by Melanie Martinez. They did a very good job with this piece by portraying the little girls playing at recess with amazing choreography. The vibe of this song just went so well with the dancers and they perform good together as a team.

I felt as if showcase went great. They had to cut a lot of pieces due to many solos. We all worked hard on the pieces and we planned to submit them and present at showcase. Next year, showcase needs to be more organized and filled with creativity. Overall everyone did a great job on their work and it was overall a success.

  19. Showcase 2020 was a great experience for me. I am looking forward to my next two years in showcase. My favorite part of the performance was the finale because I feel we really enjoyed ourselves. I personally think I gave my best because it is a little difficult to dance and sing. I do look forward to showcase next year.

One of the things I would like to see improve in showcase is everyone's attitude. Even though showcase was good to me I feel like it could've been better if people had better attitudes. I think that we could've had a make up day because we didn't perform the second day. Overall I enjoyed showcase this year as well as last year and I am looking forward for the next two years.

  20. Showcase 2020 was a very good experience for me. Since this is my first year I cannot compare it to others. However, my favorite part of showcase was "Better Days". I loved how the dancers came and danced and captured the spirit of the whole song. Faith did a very good job with singing and I think she lifted everyone in the room. At the time everyone's spirit was lifted and everyone believed that better days were coming.

We need improvement with transition times because the directors told us the transition times were way too long. I feel like I did my best and gave my best effort considering I am a freshman and I was still getting used to everything. Next year for showcase I would like to see more people be comfortable with each other and step out of our comfort zone and do more dancing. I definitely think this was a very rememberable experience for me and I cannot wait to look back at my freshman year when I get older and have this as a memory.

  21. Since this was my very first “Showcase” it went very well even though some particular spots could’ve been a whole lot better with more time and practice. My favorite part of Showcase was “Better Days” and “Come Alive” mainly because these two songs really resonated with me because of the overall heart and emotion that was put into those two songs. Some of the things that could’ve been improved was the amount of time everyone had to prepare their pieces for the show. And, if we had more time to practice, I feel the performance could’ve been ten times better than what it was even though it was a great show. Also, I feel that this performance would’ve been better if certain acts weren’t cut because of various reasons.

Looking back on Showcase I can say that I honestly gave it my all. And, as a result of everyone working together everything we did as a whole we did to the best of our abilities. This really showed in our performance. Some of the things I personally want to see in next year’s Showcase is the combination of certain magnets doing various pieces together. Also, in next year’s Showcase I would like to see more organization so everything will run a whole lot smoother. In the end this year’s Showcase was a success even though there were some bumps along the way and that just comes with a performance that important.

  22. My first BTW showcase was an amazing experience for me. The week of showcase was very stressful but the product of all the hard work was beautiful. My favorite part of the performance was "Better Days". During that performance I could honestly feel the emotion in the room and so did the audience. The dancing during the singing correlated with the music and soloist (Faith) beautifully. I think during that performance everything flowed together into an amazing moment for all those in the performance and those watching it.

I think that we could have improved on our breathing while singing and dancing. While dancing we became a little tired so our singing got lower. I also think that we could improve on the organization of the entire performance when it comes to who is actually going to perform. I believe that I gave good effort but not my best because that week was very stressful and tiring. In next years showcase I would like to see more organization with the performance practice. I feel like if we all had got the dance right before the practice it would have been easier to get it all together. Showcase 2020 was an amazing and memorable performance. I can't wait for the all showcases I get to experience after this year.

  23. I thoroughly enjoyed the BTW 2020 showcase. My favorite part of the performance was the part where show band played while soloist Veronica Sang "Somewhere". The song held passion and really lit up the room. I think communication is a key factor that needs to be improved. There seemed to be a lot of confusion especially with the overall layout of the showcase. The lack of communication really threw everybody off.

I feel like I gave my best effort but there is still room for improvement. I was mostly critical about my concert band performance, and not using proper phrasing in some areas. In future showcases I hope to see more organization, and a lot less confusion. Overall I truly enjoyed the performance.

  26. My first experience with Showcase 2020 was beyond anything I had ever experienced before. The other students were very encouraging, the atmosphere was very welcoming, and the level of comfort I gained with my peers was very nice. My favorite performance was “My Generation is so Lazy” by Kourtney Smith and Jazz ensemble. This particular performance was my favorite because it made me realize how much everyone is counting on our generation to make a change and how much different we are compared to the other generations. It also inspired me to push harder to achieve my goals.

Although the showcase was a major success, there were a few flaws. For example, the organization and the timing between rehearsals were not the best. We could have also sung out more and sharpened our movements. In addition, I gave a great effort but not to my fullest potential. I believe my stage presence could have been a lot better and I could have interacted with more people. I also believe I could have focused more. In next year’s showcase, I would like to see more people involved and more organization between the different aspects of the performance. To conclude, Showcase 2020 was a great opportunity and I can’t wait to do it all over again next year.

  27. My first BTW showcase was very chaotic and stressful, but the initial performance was really memorable. It was like a full time job with school. My favorite performance was 'Better Days', because even though it was rushed and didnt have much structure when it came to the choir, it was very fun. We all came together at the end, because we were happy about what we just created and coming together at the end of a hard week.

I personally feel we needed more movement for 'Stand in the light' and less movement for 'Come Alive'. We were all out of breath for "Come Alive" and some parts of the audience could barely hear us at the end. We prioritized dancing over singing. I feel that in the moment I did the best I could do, but looking back I would've pushed myself more not knowing we'd only perform once. Next year, I would like to see a lot more organization and bigger performances. Were not there to just perform, were there to showcase our talents, but I cant wait to see what next years' showcase stores!

  28. Showcase 2020 was really good. This was my first year performing in showcase and I really enjoyed the experience. I gave the best effort when it came to everything because I wanted to make the most out of my first showcase performance. My favorite part of showcase was ‘Come Alive’ sung by CMD and ‘Better days’ sung by Faith, choir, and MT. Faith did a wonderful job and I feel like the dancers really played a part in conveying the message of the song. I enjoyed Come Alive because I like how high the energy was and that we got to interact with the crowed.

I feel like I could have improved my expressions during stand in the light. I also feel like I need to improve my breathing because there were moments where I needed to catch my breath before moving on. In next years showcase I would like to see a lot more organization. The whole process could have gone smother and been a lot less stressful if it was organized. Overall, I enjoyed showcase 2020.

  29. This year's showcase was very different from the other showcases I have experienced. My favorite part of the showcase was the finale with Faith singing "Better Days". This performance made me cry and start thinking about my future. What needs to improve is everybody needs to take deep breaths and relax. Also, another thing is everybody needs to know their spots on stage.
I think I gave my best effort, but the Come Alive choreography was horrible for me. The things I like to see in next year's showcase is every performer does not have to go to school the whole week, each magnet should display or perform a piece, and be organized. This showcase is going to be memorable for me. I just cannot for the next years to be even better. In conclusion, this is how I reflected on the 2020 showcase. David Williams

  30. I really liked all of Showcase, but my favorite part of the performance was the visual arts video. It wasn’t just any ordinary slideshow; it was a mini-animation. I loved how the sound effects resonated in the auditorium, especially the tapping footsteps and slamming of the door sound. Another favorite act of mine was “Fight Song” because of the way that the musical theatre and dance magnets came together and had an equal amount of hopeful energy. Despite the greatness of the performances as a whole, Showcase always has room for improvement. For one, backstage was really chaotic, and the performance schedule was changed multiple times, seemingly even during the show. This wasn’t fair to the performers, the tech, and really anyone involved in the production. Everything should’ve been more organized, but other than that, I think things went pretty well. We had a lot of energy and tried to make the transitions as smooth as possible.

I personally believe I could have done better with my performance. I think my singing with the choir was fine, but I feel like my voice was really shaky on my solo. My posture and expressions were there, but I personally think my voice was lacking; it sounded like I was nervous. On top of that, my tone seemed off. However, this was my judgement from watching a recording—my performance was most likely different in person. In future years, I’d like to come back and see Showcase displaying B.T.W.’s originality and creativity better. In all my years of doing this production, I feel like Showcase has been limited to the magnets, and not the students themselves. I believe students should venture outside of their comfort zones; use the knowledge and skills that they’ve learned FROM their magnets to create original masterpieces. After all, Showcase is all about portraying raw talent in a unique and entertaining way.

  31. Showcase 2020 was amazing experience . Showcase showed me how to adjust to certain situations and allowed me to create new memories with my magnet . My favorite parts was " Come Alive " because we had amazing energy and had a chance to dance and sing . Also , "Better Days" was amazing Faith did a phenomenal job . In addition , dance executed their choreography beautifully and made the piece come full circle.

Even though showcase was a success there is still room for improvement on my part. For "Stand in the Light " I could have had better facial expressions but other than that it was great . In the future , I would want showcase to be more organized . Also , there is more positive energy than negative so the show can run more smoothly . Overall , I was honored to be apart of BTW Showcase for another year

  32. My first BTW showcase was amazing minus some minor setbacks. My favorite part of showcase was "Better Days" and "Stand in the Light". When we song "Stand in the Light" the audience looked shocked, but then when the flashlights came on and they started to follow us. Then when we song "Better Days" the dancers and Faith did a spectacular job, then when the curtains started to close it got crazy. Some parts that needed to be fixed is their timing and our breathing when we started dancing to "Come Alive".
Next year for showcase I would like to see a lot more people in it, because everybody was seen in multiple numbers. I would also like to see more organization, because the evening before it was time to start people was getting cut. I put a lot of effort into this performance. I was nervous before going on because this was the biggest performance of the year and there was a lot of people, but it turned out great. To conclude, showcase 2020 was a success!

  33. First i would like to say that i think everyone who participated in showcase did an amazing job. This was my first showcase so i did not know what to expect but this met my expectations. Everything i love all in one place surrounded by people who have similar interests? sign me up. i could never choose which part of Showcase 2020 was my favorite because i loved it all, but if i had to narrow it down to one part i would choose the moments right before each performance. The nervousness i get before i open my mouth, the butterflies i feel before every note, the replay of the song in my head to make sure i sing the right part. Those feelings were my favorite part. Performing is like the medicine that i didn't know i needed. Although, i do have a lot of work to do. There are many things i need to work on and some things i can do to improve myself.
Yes, the showcase was good but i believe it could have been SO much better if we prepared a little more. no one likes last minute things. We had the "Come Alive" dance done but it could have been better because not everyone was so sure about the moves. I needed to work on my breathing for sure because jeez..i almost died out there, no cap. I do feel kind of sad because i know sometimes im a lot. I got overwhelmed halfway through Showcase week simply because i wasn't doing my best. I struggle with not being able to focus and it got really bad to the point where i could not stop thinking. i kept spacing out and staring blankly when i was supposed to be working on things but i'm working on that. once i get that together, i should be okay for anything.
In next year's showcase i would like to see more costumes, i love dressing up! it's so fun.

  34. BTW Showcase 2k20 “All eyez on us” was really nice. I think that each piece highlighted the theme of showcase respectively. Every piece was very innovative and represented BTWMHS very well. For this year’s showcase, I did the very best that I could. I enjoyed every time choir had the opportunity to get on stage but, my favorite part lowkey was the finale. We look so good in our all white. The finale is always important to me because it is the last song we sing for showcase and this was my last time singing in the finale, which hit me differently. I think that we did an amazing job learning and incorporating the new choreography into our piece in such a short time.

If everyone would just focus more and not talk as much, we would get through rehearsals at a quicker pace and we do not have to endure everyone talking all the time. And even though I will not be at showcase next year, I would love to see a lot more humor and comity acts at showcase next year. I mainly would like a more audience-involved intermission. Overall showcase was amazing and is always a great experience to be apart of it. It's always nice seeing all of it come together with all of the hard work that is put into it by the performers that makes it all possible.

  35. I can't pick a certain part of showcase that I enjoyed because I loved every single part. Showcase 2020 was beyond amazing this year, getting that feeling of being a performer hits me every time I participate in this show. This year I was allowed to be creative and help out for once and it fueled me to go further. If I had to pick a part I would choose my magnet's pieces and the grand finale "Better Days" because I felt that my magnet could finally showcase that we could do other things besides standing on risers and learning sheet music. Also, I felt that through all the negativity and stress we were able to pull together as one and kill these performances because we did outstanding and I couldn't be happier.

I believe that I gave all the effort that I had and then some. From helping others with choreography to giving pitches and notes when needed. I would like to see more magnets involved at the next showcase and more opportunity for students who did not get the chance to show their self. My facial expressions could have been better as I always tend to drop them quick and there needs to be more positive vibes because the negative energy threw me off on multiple occasions. Showcase should also be ran more fluently that way it will not be such chaos. All eyes on us Showcase 2020 was an experience that I can't wait to be apart of again.

  36. Showcase 2020 was an amazing experience. This was my first time performing showcase and overall just being in the show was a great experience. My favorite part of showcase was "Better Days" sung by Faith,Choir and Musical Theater, also the dancers were dancing. This piece just had so much joy in it all at once I really enjoyed seeing it all come together at the last moment. Another one of my favorite pieces was "My Shot" performed by Musical Theater it was a really good piece I enjoyed watching the stepping and dancing and hearing the rapping and singing.

In the show the parts of improvement would be the organizational level of running the show. I think that the show could have ran smoother and faster if the transitions after pieces weren't so long.I think that I did not give my best effort to some of the pieces that I performed and it really showed on stage a little because it came off as I didn't want to be there and that is something I need to work on. This year theme was really good but for next year showcase I would like to see more of each magnet and collaborations of magnets, also I would like to see more students have collaborated pieces with each other because that is what really shows what our school is like.

  38. My favorite part of the showcase performance was the better days performance with musical theater, choir and Faith. I feel like the performance should have been more organized cause I did not know about the hand movements that were happening in that moment.

I think I showed my best effort and I tried my best on stand in the light but I was not standing by any altos which had me puzzled. I’m just being honest also next year I would like to see some more individuality because more people can sing than the the ones who did solos in the showcase performance.

  39. Showcase 2020 went better than expected. During rehearsal I began to questioned the quality of the show. My favorite part of showcase was “Better Days”. Faith did so good on that song, I love when she sings. The dancers did a good job as well, they made the moment so much more powerful. Also enjoyed “Fight Song”, I was a little nervous for this piece because at the beginning I struggled with the choreography but once I got it I was fine.

I feel like I put forth my best effort at showcase, although there is always room for improvement. Things that I hope that they will improve on is organization, I noticed everytime we went on stage something had changed, but that’s show business. Another thing that I hope to see is more student lead pieces. BTW has drifted away from what showcase is actually about, which is showcasing all students talents and creativity. Unfortunately, this was my last showcase, but I look forward to seeing what the future holds for BTW.

  40. As Showcase 2020 being my third showcase I have performed in, it was by far my best. Even though it started off rough, the overall outcome was a success. My favorite performance was "Better Days", performed by Faith Gatson and I feel like it was the best. Out all the performances performed, her piece connected and moved a lot of people, including myself.
In next year's showcase, I feel like the staff over showcase should communicate with their performers more. Their were to many threats about cutting pieces, but reasons were not provided. So therefore, help before you cut. Also, transitions is another improvement that needed to be made. I believe I put forth my best effort, even though I know I can always do better.

  41. My favorite part of showcase this year was "Better Days" performed by soloist Faith Gatson. This song caused me as well as other people around me feel moved and connected to as wholes and individually. I believe that organization and communication could have done a lot for showcase this year. Pieces were routinely taken out, put back in, and changed at the last minute, and it caused much dismay to many of the performers.
I would like to believe I put forth my best effort. I have no choice but to when it comes to performing. If you don't intend to put all effort into your performance, there is no true reason for you to perform. In next year's showcase, I would like to see more theatrical pieces. Showcase has always been seen to involve so much that involves music, but adding more spoken words, speeches, scenes or anything where you don't just sing and dance could gain more appreciation in our school showcase.

  42. My Favorite part of showcase this year was Better Days performed by Faith,Musical Theater and choir. I think it could've been more organized in my opinion. I gave my best effort to put into showcase 2020 and the performances included in it. What I would like to see nest year in showcase 2021 is probably more poetry or theatrical performances as it is mostly music and dancing but overall I think the show was a success. -Amory Scott

  43. My favorite part of Showcase was Come Alive. There were a few parts that could have been improved had we had enough time to practice more extensively. Showcase, this year, was very rushed and unorganized. I did the best with what i had.
In next year's Showcase, I hope that it will be more structured/organized. I would like to see more magnets coming together to give a better sense of togetherness. If the time for rehearsal was increased to at least a week, the show would be much more fluid and the show could move along a lot faster.

  44. My favorite part of the performance of the Stand in the Light song that was sung. I love the way everyone sounded, although I was not in uniform, I had the chance to usher and sing! My favorite part was seeing how everyone walked out into the audience and as soon as the lights went off, the came back on! The flash lights were so beautifully arranged with the lyrics that were song. I feel that everyone upstairs heard the song very well, and sound was very well loud and clear. There was no need for improvement in that area at all! Everyone was also very energetic which was great. Although I was not able to preform with the choir, I would have loved to give my 110 % towards this huge and amazing performance.

I would love to see many talented students display their talents as well as taking my breathe away once again. I am sure what ever the theme may be, BTW choral magnet will always out-shine many other magnets. (no offense) My first time attending showcase was last year and I knew at that time I had choose the right school to make my own. It is also such a blessing to be apart of the choral department this year as an elective , I have so much fun singing and hearing the hilarious jokes from time to time in class while learning more about music. I have no doubt that next year's showcase will be even better than this year.

  45. My favorite part of showcase was better days with Faith MT and dance. I loved the energy during the song. I think our attitudes could have been improved not everybody had a positive attitude and it showed. If you have a bad attitude people can tell.

I think I put forth my best effort but I can always do better. I would like to see more organization showcase was great but I think it could have been a lot better if it was more organized.

  46. BTW SHOWCASE WAS LEGIT!! This perfomance was not like any other I've ever participateded in. The most memorable part of showcase to me was Better Days performed by the #ohsoknown FGeezy (Faith Gatson). The background praise dancing incorperated within her performance had a lasting affect. I personally ride for the saying, "Make improvements, not EXCUSES". This is me attempting to imply that there is always a way to improve the lack of skill in something I do. I honestly had a hard time breathing while when running down the steps, of course. By running more maybe I will unlock the key to maintaining a sufficient amount of oxygen in my lungs.
DID I GIVE MY BEST EFFORT? OF COURSE NOT XD! Although My makeup was pretty fly and my feet were leaning, I was still nervous. I struggled with projecting my voice like we practiced and this lead to my lack of energy. Next year I would like to see a great emphasis on organization. It was sad to see many acts get cut, and also an entire performance, like they really out here scammimg people LOL. But Overall I enjoyed it!

  47. My favorite part of the showcase was the Better Days with faith MT and the Dance. The energy that it was giving off was spectacular. But I also think that during their performance they could've incorporated other stuff. I did not participate in the 2020 BTW SHOWCASE. But I'm pretty sure they did their best as they always do! This year I would like to see the performers do something different than last year and or the previous years.
