  1. My last name starts with a L so my genre was Pop. A pop song that I really enjoy is "Oh Sheila" by Ready For The World. This song is classified as Electro funk which was huge for the pop scene in the 80's. I am very fond of this song because of its fun up beat and instruments as well as the beautiful voice of the song. I find myself in the mix of guitar and hard drum that really give the song that fun 80's flare that is just so enjoyable that you have to get up and sing and dance. I just feel like I'm in a time capsule and I'm with that generation. It is a catchy song and the lyrics can be interpreted as sweet if you look at it from a point a view of he wrote a song for a girl named Sheila he truly adores. If I can't have love like that I don't want it.

  2. My last name begins with an R so the genre I was given is hip-hop. The song I chose is "Till I Collapse" by Eminem. Eminem is one of the most well-known hip-hop artists of our time. He went through a rough childhood and he put his feelings into his songs which makes them very powerful. This song is all about not giving up. It reminds me through the lyrics that no matter what life throws at me, I should never give up. It is very catchy and upbeat and a very good, inspiring song.

I love this because it has a upbeat sound but it is still a rock song. I listen to this song when I have a crush and I think about how feel about the thought the week. The Cure Is an AMAZING BAND!

  6. My last name start with S so I will be choosing a country song. The song I chose is Mean by Taylor Swift. Everything about the song is descent. The song's beat is the typical country song. But I love the lyrics. I don't really listen to country, but if this song comes on I would not mind.

  7. My last name is Hataway so the pop song I chose is "Brave" by Sara Bareilles. It has an upbeat tempo and overall has a fun sound. (If that is even a way to describe it.) The lyrics talk about how it is ok to stand up for yourself and how you should be the person who makes a difference. If you haven't heard this song I would highly recommend listening to it; It could really make a difference in someone's day.

  9. My last name is Harvey so the Pop song I chose was "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. I didn't think that this song was a pop song but I love it. It is a romantic song to play at a wedding. This song is more of a love song that is taking about his wife. In the opening of the song you can hear the guitar playing clearly what kind, I don't know. This is also a great song to only play the piano with a person singing.

  10. My last name starts with a G so I had to commit to the genre Pop. The song I chose is titled "Issues", by Julia Michaels. Throughout the song, she deeply expresses her feelings about a guy she likes. This is not what caught my interest in the song. The fact that she addressed the fact that nobody'd perfect and we all make mistakes, therefore no one should be judged, is what I like about the song. Her voice elevates throughout the whole song in an excellent tempo and nothing goes off beat. She also states that your problems can be solved by working together to fix it or find a solution.

  11. My last name is Barnett so I was given the genre of Rock. The Rock song that I chose is Queen - Another One Bites the Dust. This is a very simple song. It has a basic kick drum beat and continuously repeated cords on the Bass Guitar. This is a very fun song that is good to listen to when you are hanging out with friends. The lyrics can be interpreted many ways and do not have a definite meaning. Overall this a good easy to listen to song.

  12. My last name starts with a G so my genre was Pop. I chose the song Some Nights by the band Fun. They were one of my favorite bands when they made music. They are on a hiatus right now but i still listen to their old songs. Some Nights just talks about how we go through things but some nights we just have fun and let loose. I really feel this song speaks to people and I hope they continue to make music.

I chose this song only because it was the only rock song I knew of that I actually know. This song is about tells the tale of Tommy and Gina, a working class couple who struggle to make ends meet and vow to "hold on to what we've got. It was actually a great song to listen to.

  16. Because my last name begins with a J I will be choosing the pop genre. The song that I chose to do is Location by Khalid. I really like this song because my mom and I listen to it all the time and it just is really good. The beat of the song is really good and it is very catchy. I love catchy songs because it's easier to learn them and this one is really nice and smooth. I know that whenever I hear this song I can relax and just vibe because everything is going to be okay. I think that a lot of people should listen to this song because it is really nice and just smooth the beat is really nice and it's very fun to sing. Whether you joking around and singing to your best friend or even singing it to your significant other you will love it no matter what.

  18. Music to some is just something to entertain them whether it's while they're in the shower, while doing homework, cooking, or just for entertainment..to others music speaks on a personal level. My last name begins with a "G" so my genre was POP! The song of my choice was "End of the Road." This song was produced in 1991 as a Contemporary R&B song by Boyz II Men. The words of the song are mostly self explanatory telling you to never give up. When times get tough, never give up although you're at the end of the road..remember, DONT LET GO ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDKO6XYXioc

  19. My name is Kaleb Selmar. As you can see my last name starts with an S so my categorie of music is Country/Western, and I chose the song "Stuck Like Glue." I chose this song because it the only country song that I could think of because I don't really listen to country music. This song is a romantic that's basically about this female that's crazy about a guy that doesn't want to be with her. I like this song because it has such a great beat and rythym to it. As the song comes to an end it has a beat that's gives like a Jamaican vibe.

  20. My last name is Coley, so the category I was under was Rock. I choose the song "Don't Stop Believing" because it's a very inspiring song. To me the song conveys the message to open up your eyes, and embrace what's in the world without allowing anyone to bring you down. The song relates to me in this way. I've had many upsets in my life. Not allowing these upsets to hold me back has been a challenge that I have endured. This is why I choose the song "Don't Stop Believing".

  22. Since my last name starts with a K, I have to do a song from the Pop genre. The song I chose is "We Belong Together," by Mariah Carey. This song is a classic that is guaranteed to get you in your feelings. I remember hearing this song on the radio when I was younger. The song is about how Carey didn't realize a man she was previously with was the one for her until it was too late. Although I love the song, I personally cannot relate.

  23. My last name is Hutchinson, so I am under the Pop category. The song I chose was "Royals" by Lorde. This song in my opinion is a very soothing and realistic song. I love the slow steady beat and her voice all together. This song is talking about how she was influenced as a child by the music she listened to like hip hop. She is explaining how the songs were always about alchohol, expensive cars and materialistic things and it opened her eyes to realized that it was all unnecessary. This song relates to me because sometimes the music i listen to can sometimes influence me in the wrong way.

  25. My last name begins with a “T” which puts me into the Country category. I do not listen to Country music. The only time I hear this genre is when I accidentally change the radio station, or when I eat at Cracker Barrel. There is nothing wrong with the genre, it just isn’t my cup of tea. The song that I chose was “You Belong with Me” by Taylor Swift. I chose this song because, in my opinion, the old Taylor Swift is better than her new style of music. Country music shows more of her vocal abilities.

We've song this song a couple of times in choir and I honestly, love the song and its message. I, at first, did not even know Foreigner sung it because I'd only heard Mariah Carey sing it. However, I've come to like both arrangements just about equally.

  28. Walker is my last name, and this week I will be doing a song from the country genre. I chose the song "Fifteen," by Taylor Swift. I remember when the song first came out, I was probably about nine or ten. Taylor Swift was the first country artist that I was exposed to because her music was playing just about everywhere back then. I like the song because of the story telling that takes place throughout the song. I even like the video, it demonstrates her walking through a school as she sings about a part of a fifteen year old girl's high school journey.

When this song first hit the radio everybody was listening to it because it was different than what was on the radio around that time. I like the beat and the whole feel the song gives off. You can even hear the chemistry between Rihanna and Drake on the song and in the video. I still listen to the song occasionally because you can get real hype when it comes on.

  31. My last name is Stanford so I had to choose a Country/Western song. This was a little hard considering I do not listen to country as much as I used to. Most country music has took a Pop turn so I just listen to Pop music more than anything. But "Blue Ain't Your Color" by Keith Urban really gave me a country feel. I'm already a fan of Keith Urban so this song choice was not all that difficult after I looked him up. The song has a beautiful slow melody and I'm in love with the lyrics. This song overall is a great listen.

When he rapped he painted a picture in your mind so that you could visualize whatever it was that he was rapping about. 34. Being that my last name starts with a T, my appointed genre was country/western. I do like country music so it was easy to find a song that I really like. I chose the song, "Bless the Broken Road" by the Rascal Flatts. I first heard this song on "Hantana Montana: The Movie." In one of the scenes of the movie, the band was singing this song on the porch; due to that particular scene being heartfelt and warming, I instantly fell in love with the song. I like this song because of the blues type of feel that it has to it. It is the type of song a person would dance to at their wedding with the person they love most. In this song, the singer thanks the lord for his mistakes and for all the people that have done him wrong because they led him to meet the love of his life and she is all he sees. I get in a good mood every time I hear this song and this is definitely one of my favorite country songs.

The song has a deep meaning. Believer is about someone who finds the pain in life. The way the song is sung it shows that it has a personal emotion behind it. The songs has a very good beat to it and the song has a very nice structure with the lyrics. I don't usually listen to rock but I have listened to this song. If I were to listen to rock I would listen to the Imagine Dragons.

  37. My last name begins with the letter "C," therefore I was given the opportunity to examine the rock genre and pick a song correlating with that genre. The song I chose was "Carrie" by Europe. This song's genre is rock, but it doesn't necessarily sound upbeat and all over the place. There are numerous styles of rock music, and this is one I find particularly charming. I can feel passion radiating from the song. The vocals are very nicely done, as they match the instrumentals perfectly. Though the song is a bit repetitive in my opinion. Other than that, the song was great and actually soothing to listen to.

Queen are a British rock band that formed in London in 1970. Their classic line-up was Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon.
